Welcome to Historic Nottingham, Home of Robin Hood

After more than a decade, the annual Eurovis Conference, organized by the Visualization, Text Analytics, and Graphics (VisTAG) Group at the University of Nottingham, returns to the island of the UK, 8-12 June 2026.  Eurovis 2026 is the 29th annual visualization and visual analytics event organized by the Eurographics Working group on Data Visualization.

Eurovis has been an international Eurographics visualization event held in Europe annually since 1990. It began as the Eurographics Workshop on Visualization in Scientific Computing (ViSC) and became the joint Eurographics/IEEE Visualization Symposium (VisSym) in 1999.  It was renamed to EuroVis in 2005 and became a Eurographics Conference in 2012. Since 2008 its proceedings are published as a special issue of Computer Graphics Forum (EG/WIley CGF).

The exciting and vibrant field of Visualization is an ever-increasingly important research area due the increasing popularity of data-driven decision making, explainable AI (XAI), to its wide range of applications.  In general, our ability to collect, store, and archive data vastly exceeds our ability to derive useful knowledge and insight from it.  This is a ubiquitous problem.  Data visualization is key in gaining an understanding of large, complex data sets and processes by exploiting the human visual system.  Data visualization leverages computer graphics, machine learning, and perception in order to provide a visual overview, explore, analyze, and present phenomena which are often difficult to understand.

The objective of Eurovis is to foster greater exchange between visualization researchers and practitioners, and to draw more researchers and industry partners around the globe to enter this rapidly growing area of research. Eurovis has an expanded scope to include all areas of visualization, including visual analytics and explainable AI.

EuroVis papers are published as a special issue of Computer Graphics Forum, (CGF) the International Journal of the Eurographics Association, after a two-stage review process.

The main conference is preceded by Workshops such as EuroVA 2026, the 17th international Eurovis Workshop on Visual Analytics, which will be held in the same location during the first two days of the conference.  Other closely related events and workshops will also be co-located.

New to Eurovis 2026

Short Paper and Education Paper Acceptance

Short papers and education papers will feature two acceptance categories: accept for oral presentation and accept as poster presentation.  This way, more presenters will have the opportunity to showcase their work.

Bows and Arrows

Conference delegates are invited to participate in a bow and arrow contest.

Axe Throwing Contest

There will be an opportunity to show off your axe throwing skills.

Eurovis takes place in the UK only once approximately every ten years, so take advantage of this great opportunity. If you are interested in getting involved, please follow our social media channels and please contact the local organizing committee.
